CBSI is the dutch branch of Community Bible Study Internationl (CBSI).  This is an interdenominational movement seeking to involve everyone in study of Gods word.  Their motto is "Everyone in the world, in the Word.".  This page delineates the working principles of CBSI.

1.  Individual biblestudy

Group members answer home study questions to gain personal insights into that week's Bible passage.  This is the most important step.  The whole purpose of the study is for the participant to open the Bible and discover for themselves the truths of the Word of God, and so become students of the Word. 

2.  Small group sharing

The group members come together (bi-) weekly for interaction with others who have studied and prepared the same lesson.  Everyone learns from God in their individual study, and also from each other during this sharing time.

3. Exhortation

During the wrap up time the group leader will restate the biblical principles that have been already discovered, expressed and shared by the members.  The group leader has the opportunity to help transform  biblical principles into something relevant for practical living.  Teaching Helps are available to guide the group leader to an effective lecture.

4.  Commentaries

Every lesson in the studybook ends with a written commentary which group members read at home.    

5.  Care for each member

An important part of CBSI is the personal attention that members give each other so everyone can experience Gods love.
